DOG SEES GOD

Welcome to the world of Charles Schulz's Classic "Peanuts" characters once they are more grown and have entered their High School years. When CB's dog dies from rabies, CB begins to question the existence of an afterlife. His best friend is too burnt out to provide any coherent speculation; his sister has gone goth; his ex-girlfriend has recently been institutionalized and his other friends are too inebriated to give him any kind of solace. But a chance meeting with an artistic kid, the target of this group's bullying, offers CB some peace of mind and sets a friendship in motion that will push the teens to their very limits.

CB (Charlie Brown) - Main character in the play. He is incredibly sad about the death of his beloved dog (Snoopy) and he is forced to question his sexuality and social status when he falls for another character in the play.

CB's Sister (Sally) - She has gone completely goth for a part of the play. Her other two character types throughout the play are "hippie" and "thug." She loves her brother, but also wants him to move past what he has been dealing with.

Van (Linus) - Now a major pothead, he has a view of the world to match his current ways. He is constantly trying to get with CB's sister.

Matt (Pig Pen) - Germophobe. His former external dirtiness has been INTERNALIZED in a way. He's obsessed with sex, he's a homophobe and he's constantly teasing Beethoven. He is also a football player and CB's best friend.

Beethoven (Schroeder) - He has become the outcast of the school. Events in the play reveal that he was sexually abused by his father when he was younger and this gave motivation to the other characters to end their friendship with him. He is a bit of a recluse and he takes solace in playing the piano.

Tricia (Peppermint Patty) - Party girl who loves alcohol and considers herself the most popular girl in the school.

Marcy (Marcie) - Tricia's sidekick. Also a party girl.

Van's Sister (Lucy) - Has been institutionalized for setting a girl's hair on fire.

Pen Pal - Doesn't appear in the play, but has a major part, if not the biggest. This character alludes to being a representation of God. It has a definite clear picture of the afterlife and signs it's letters with the initials 'CS' (Charles Schulz). **Not an actual speaking role**
